Barclays in Milan offers a Sales Analyst / Trading Analyst graduate programme for recent graduates to join the Markets division, with structured training across desks such as Client Capital Management, Equities, FX and Structuring.

You will develop analytical and communication skills, support traders and salespeople, attend client meetings, build financial models and contribute to risk management in a fast‑paced, international environment at Via Broletto 4.

Entry salary is €85,000 per year.

  • Fluency in English and Italian; German, French or Spanish are desirable.

Over your time as an analyst, you’ll develop a solid understanding of the global markets while building your communication, quantitative and analytical skills.

After intensive initial training, you will start your career as a salesperson or a trader on a specific desk in one of our business areas, including: Client Capital Management, Client Strategy, Commodities, Credit, eFICC Trading, Equities, Equity Financing, Foreign Exchange, Municipals, Rates, Structuring and Securitised Products.

As a Sales Analyst, You’ll Start By Supporting Your Colleagues Before Taking On Your Own Set Of Clients. You May
  • Analyse and develop solutions to clients’ needs
  • Monitor markets and formulate trade ideas
  • Perform various analysis on fundamental and technical data
  • Attend client meetings or calls with traders, salespeople and research colleagues
As a Trading Analyst, You May
  • Monitor markets and generate trade ideas

  • Help out with daily tasks such as trade reporting or P&L analysis
  • Assist with managing risk of the team’s trading books

To be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree, in any area.

Language requirements: fluent in English and Italian, desirable in German, French, Spanish.

Ideally, you will have an interest in business and finance, a good work ethic and be keen to learn and develop a technical skill set.

Working in Milan

Capital of the Lombardy region and second Italian city after Rome, Milan is located in the heart of the Po Valley, bathed by several rivers (Olona, Seveso, Lambro) and crossed by artificial canals (navigli), we are based at Via Broletto 4, where you will be part of our international finance team, where our services encompass delivering financial advisory, capital raising, financing and risk management services to clients worldwide.

Entry Salary: €85,000

Upper Salary: €85,000

The entry and upper salary information above includes only annual full-time equivalent base salary and represents the typical range of pay for the role. The actual pay rate will reflect the responsibility level of the role and experience level of the individual. The entry and upper salary information does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Barclays employees are also eligible for a suite of competitive country-specific benefits.

This position is eligible for an incentive award.

Purpose of the role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the markets division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for the global markets division.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for the global markets division.
  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
  • Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in the global markets division.
  • Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.
