A leading company in the plastics industry is seeking a Sales Manager for PP Compounds in Italy. The role involves negotiating with customers, defining sales strategies, and managing key accounts. Ideal candidates will possess strong negotiation skills and fluency in Italian and English.
SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager for PP Compounds will be responsible for negotiating with existing customers and prospecting for new ones in Italy, acting as a Key Account Manager for international clients. Key activities include defining sales strategies, preparing sales contracts, and collaborating with the technical team to deliver tailored solutions. The role involves building long-term customer relationships, managing customer rates, and addressing potential risks. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in the plastics industry, excellent negotiation skills, and fluency in both Italian and English.
OBJECTIVES:
• Responsible for negotiating with previously defined customers and prospecting for new customers in Italy, in a close collaboration with the company’s management.
• Acting as a Key Account Manager for assigned international clients.
• Delivering offers / quotes to existing and prospective customers.
• Reporting to the Sales Director Europe.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
• Define the sales strategy of the company's various products to its customers.
• Collect all necessary information for the preparation of sale contracts.
• Communicate with the technical team to propose the most suitable solution for a given customer.
• Searching for new business opportunities, especially in relation to replacing Polyamide compounds.
• Negotiate the best terms of sale in agreement with company’s management.
• Manage and record various customer’s rates.
• Issue material sample and test requests for the laboratory.
• Build and nurture customer rapport in order to develop and maintain long-term relationships.
• Control the proper application of contracts and planned sales volumes with assigned customers.
• Identify, anticipate and manage customer risks, financial risks, delivery disruptions and changes in the customer's structure.
• Acting as an interface between customers and management, sales, R&D, QHSE and finance.
• Assists the technical and sales team for tests, complaints or disputes.
• Report on individual sales activities, situation with customers and the progress of samples during exchanges with company’s management and during sales meetings.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge and effective use of various sales and negotiation techniques.
• Detailed knowledge of company's technical possibilities and products’ advantages.
• Good knowledge of the plastics industry and plastics processing, especially injection moulding with a proven track record of a successful account management.
• Analytical mindset with an ability to adjust to changing market conditions.
• Strong decision-making skills, able to identify and mitigate potential problems with customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills, allowing to effectively communicate internally and externally at different levels and with different departments.
• Excellent time management and priority setting skills with a self-propelled attitude.
• Ability to effectively use MS Office and ERP system.
• Fluency in both Italian and English.
