The Role

Our Sales Grocery Team ensures the onboarding, for the Italian market, of the most relevant Grocery Retailers that are not working with Deliveroo yet. As our business continues to scale, we become a major revenue channel for Grocery Partners. We provide best-in-class support, acting as partner consultants that use data-driven insights and industry knowledge to drive our partners' growth. The Grocery team is a passionate, dynamic group of team players that work well together and cross-functionally with other departments. They are also fun, personable, and great at building relationships!

What you’ll be doing :

  • Pitch and close grocery partnerships with the most relevant players in the territory using a proactive approach, via channels such as cold calls, visits, and in-person meetings.
  • Manage your own pipeline, ensuring strong conversion rates and exceeding volume & quality targets.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales cycle with potential grocery partners through strategic negotiations and making attractive offers to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure a smooth integration process from registration to operational launch and sales generation.
  • Support the wider commercial team with strategic initiatives like field pitch days, marketing roll-outs, and cross-functional projects.
  • This role is an individual contributor position and does not involve managing a team.

Skills & Requirements :

  • 4-7 years of B2B sales experience in related fields such as groceries, retail, or FMCG (MUST).
  • Passion for data and a data-driven mindset (MUST).
  • Fluent in Italian and English (MUST).
  • Strong knowledge of the GDO industry (MUST).
  • Self-driven with a proven sales record and an appetite for scaling your portfolio.
  • Phone-based sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.
  • Perseverance and resilience – not afraid of rejection.
  • Competitive nature – thrives in a high-performance team environment.
  • Curiosity and a desire for continuous learning and testing new ideas.
  • High emotional intelligence and persuasive skills.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
