Job Description: Sales & Distribution Head

Develop and oversee the sales and distribution strategy in collaboration with the CEO, ensuring achievement of sales volume, value, outlet coverage, and profitability targets across modern trade and general trade channels.

  1. Plan and execute sales strategies for assigned territories to enhance sales portfolio and profitability.
  2. Create annual and monthly sales plans aligned with strategic goals.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients in GT and MT channels.
  4. Develop mechanisms for successful product/SKU launches.
  5. Achieve sales targets, support sales forecasting, and implement mechanisms to meet objectives.
  6. Manage regional budgets, monitor ROI, and rebates.
  7. Handle profit and loss analysis for sales operations across regions.
  8. Analyze MIS data on stocks, consumption, and costs; monitor budget compliance.
  9. Enforce credit policies, ensure timely collections, and manage dealer/customer relationships.
  10. Design distribution plans to improve reach and market share.
  11. Gather customer feedback and resolve complaints promptly.
  12. Conduct weekly reviews and visit key customers regularly.
  13. Lead business performance discussions and explore revenue growth opportunities.
  14. Implement stocktaking systems and ensure accurate sales and inventory reporting.
  15. Report sales performance to the CEO and prepare board reports.
  16. Coordinate promotional activities with Marketing to boost sales.
  17. Encourage innovative marketing and branding techniques.
  18. Lead health and safety initiatives, fostering a safety culture.
  19. Review performance of sales team members and identify improvement areas.
  20. Identify and develop new business opportunities to increase market share.
  21. Monitor market trends, competitors, and potential new markets.
  22. Support marketing in brand strategy, image enhancement, and new product launches.
  23. Participate in trade shows and industry events to promote company offerings.
  24. Manage and develop the sales team through training, performance reviews, and resource allocation.

Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of sales and distribution experience, preferably in FMCG.
  • Proficiency in English and the local language of the market.
  • Experience working within the assigned markets.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in General Management from a reputed university is preferred.
