Job Description Summary
At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business Unit, we've been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.
As Sales Director, you will report to the Military and Helicopters programs Senior Sales Director with the aim to develop Avio Aero business both on helicopter and military markets.
You will be accountable for building positive and trustful relationships with the Avio Aero Customers, developing new business opportunities which encompass the whole product life-cycle of Avio Aero portfolio.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Following the Strategy guidelines, the role requires the capability to open new markets, identify Customer CTQs, and develop the value propositions to enhance the Avio Aero growth.
  2. Lead the team.
  3. Promote and ensure synergy with OTR and Engineering team to early capture Customer needs and available funds to secure Avio Aero growth.
  4. Generate new business opportunities for Avio Aero by engaging existing and potential customers.
  5. Lead the overall bidding process from RFQ up to the proposal release and influence the internal stakeholders to get the required approvals/decisions.
  6. Identify the "price to win" and the appropriate commercial strategy in order to obtain the required approvals from the company.
  7. Negotiate contracts in line with the negotiation mandate received from the Company and escalate to the appropriate level of the organization whenever needed.
  8. Manage the budget sales through proper planning of the yearly order acquisition and providing the periodic forecasts.
  9. Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services and utilize understanding of industry trends to inform decision-making processes.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. STEM Master's Degree from an accredited university (Aerospace Engineering is a plus).
  2. Bold curriculum with experience matured in different Functions (e.g., engineering, quality, service support, etc.) with solid experience in Aerospace industries.
  3. Business acumen, sales, and negotiation skills.
  4. Market knowledge (fixed and/or rotary wing markets).
  5. Ability to work within cross-functional teams.
  6. Basic technical knowledge (i.e., principles of propulsion systems and/or gearboxes).
  7. Eligible for NATO Security clearance.
  8. Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
  9. Fluent written and spoken Italian and English.
  10. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  11. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to handle multiple priorities and assignments in a time-pressured environment.

Desired Characteristics:

  1. Strong experience in sales or customer support roles in an international environment.
  2. Previous experiences in companies operating in B2B environment or Government Sales.
  3. Salesforce knowledge.
  4. Knowledge of power gearboxes and/or turboshafts.
  5. Understanding of legal aspects and implications of contracts, terms, and conditions.
  6. Problem solving.
  7. Risk management.
