Job Opportunity: Sales Director

Position Details:

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Travel across South Europe territory as required.
  2. Create and execute strategic plans to reach sales targets and expand customer base.
  3. Sell solutions into major retailers across the region, achieving/exceeding sales targets via annual subscriptions.
  4. Understand, learn, and deliver our value proposition through proposals and presentations, positioning Retail Insight as a category leader.
  5. Understand category-specific landscapes and trends.
  6. Maintain an effective sales team through recruiting, onboarding, and training; monitor and appraise team performance.
  7. Focus on achieving targets while ensuring contracts are considered 'good business' with clear expectations for delivery.
  8. Build pipeline in collaboration with business development, marketing, and advisors; set priorities and provide input for accounts in your territory.
  9. Maximize networking and marketing opportunities; attend major industry events and conferences.
  10. Provide accurate reporting on sales forecasts and activities within the territory.
The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Experience at a B2B technology provider (software or hardware for stores) is essential.
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels, including C-level.
  • Experience as head of sales, developing client-focused solutions.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in business development within the retail or CPG sector, especially Food, Drug, & Mass sectors.
  • Experience implementing solutions into Retailers is valuable.
  • Ability to understand complex issues and develop solutions; business-savvy with technological insight.
  • Creative and strategic in identifying sales opportunities and executing plans.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with prospective clients.
  • High energy, positive outlook, and a strong work ethic.
