Job Description - SALES ASSOCIATE (MINIMART) (240002FT)

Job Summary: Grade: NF01, Salary Code N/A. Sells general merchandise to customers using professional selling techniques. Works as part of a sales team to provide service that exceeds customer expectations. Assists in all aspects of operating the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar, including opening, closing, preparing, displaying, replenishing goods, and cleaning stations and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and engage customers, assist in merchandise selection, suggest additional items, and explain product warranties.
• Interact professionally with customers and coworkers, adhering to dress code and supporting the sales team.
• Be knowledgeable about merchandise, including setup, use, care, characteristics, and warranties, and communicate this information effectively.
• Ensure areas are stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged; communicate stock needs and customer preferences to supervisors.
• Complete sales transactions efficiently, including cash register operations, and thank customers for their patronage.
• Advise customers about sales events and services, and promote the NEXCARD benefits.
• Handle customer returns and problems tactfully, applying store policies consistently.
• Maintain high awareness to deter theft and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist in unpacking, staging, and creating store displays; participate in inventories.
• Accurately complete related paperwork.
• Participate in sales incentive programs.
• Lift up to 25 lbs. as needed for job duties.

For Minimarts operating a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar:

• Open and close the bar, ensure equipment is turned on/off, and display products.
• Replenish products and condiments, and date food items.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and monitor refrigerator/freezer temperatures.
• Attend food safety training as required.
