Accountabilities :
- Scout for and identify business opportunities, including new markets, trends, customers, partners, products, and services; maintain relationships with current customers.
- Seek out the appropriate contacts within organizations, generate leads with prospective customers and partners.
- Understand customer needs and respond effectively with a strategic plan to meet objectives, developing and improving the business.
- Attend seminars, conferences, and relevant industry events.
- Establish a network with senior executives from rail operators, equipment suppliers, associations, and industry stakeholders in Europe.
- Contribute to the global R&D roadmap and portfolio management by identifying technology trends and product needs in Europe.
- Manage relationships and escalations with regional customers, partners, and industry associations.
- Support the promotion of business opportunities and discuss promotional strategies with External Communications & Marketing teams.
- Develop a good understanding of the company's products and services, industry competition, and positioning.
- Manage and execute all sales activities, liaising with internal departments to ensure alignment and leadership.
- Create and maintain a sales pipeline, perform sales forecasts and analyses.
- Monitor and report on sales performance against targets with support from the CFO unit.
- Support during bidding phases, negotiations, and contract acquisitions.
- Implement standards, processes, and tools for sales, approvals, contracting, and customer / partner relationship management.
- Identify opportunities to minimize contract risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Deliver best-in-class solutions and services, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Support the approval process for projects and bids according to current standards.
- Comply with Hitachi Rail's Health and Safety policies.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge :

- International experience with Rolling Stock and Turnkey projects.
- Minimum 5 years proven experience as Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or Project Manager in the rail industry or with complex industrial products.
Education / Qualifications : University Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Economics with a proven positive attitude towards complex industrial products business.
Languages : Italian and English mandatory; proficiency in German and French is highly desirable.
