What you will do

Volvo Penta is looking for a Sales Application Engineer for the industrial segment located in the Market Unit Italy (Milan). Market Unit Italy belongs to the South Europe Hub including France, Spain, Portugal and other smaller countries.

In the South Europe hub we support some of Volvo Penta’s key industrial OEMs.

The industrial segment at Volvo Penta offers world-class drive line solutions for a broad variety of applications, such as gensets, material handling, agriculture, mining, and more. The segment has grown steadily in recent years, mainly with new projects concerning the new emissions portfolio.

As a Sales Application Engineer, your main responsibility is to provide our OEM customers with efficient technical sales and installation engineering support.

A key focus will be to grow the new technology business through prospecting and approaching new stakeholders. Volvo Penta’s new technologies include dual fuel engines, energy storage systems, electric drivelines, and more.

We seek a customer-focused individual with strong commitment and engagement to support our OEMs and dealers and to further develop our business.

The position is based in Milan, Italy, with frequent travel within Italy, France, Spain, and occasional international travel. You will report to the Sales Manager for South Europe.

Who are you?

To succeed in this role, you should utilize your technical and customer-oriented skills to ensure optimal installation of our products in OEM machines, maximizing performance for end customers.

You will need to collaborate closely with OEM engineering and design teams to understand their needs, and work with internal stakeholders to promote OEM requirements and gain support. You will be part of a skilled team that contributes to your success and relies on your support. Together, you and your colleagues will build a customer team with overall technical and commercial responsibility for your customers’ driveline business.

Qualifications:

  • Italian mother tongue
  • Relevant technical education; a university degree is a plus
  • Experience in design or testing of heavy-duty machinery or driveline components
  • Experience in electromobility is highly advantageous
  • Supportive, team-oriented personality with integrity and good communication skills
  • Fluent in English; additional languages such as Spanish and French are a strong advantage
