Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) seeks a hands-on Hardware Debug Engineer to diagnose and recover rugged embedded computing hardware, supporting Production by investigating failures on SBCs and system assemblies.

You will use electrical test equipment, schematics, assembly docs, and structured troubleshooting to identify root causes and work with Production, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering to improve product quality and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in hand-on hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new hardware and software tools.
• Onsite work at 9901 Silicon Prairie Parkway in Verona, WI.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies and single board computers down to the component level.
• Perform hand-on electrical and functional testing using lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly documentation, and test procedures to support troubleshooting.
• Document troubleshooting activities, findings, and corrective actions.
• Analyze failure data to identify recurring or systemic issues and provide recommendations for Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design Engineering.
• Develop and improve troubleshooting methods, test procedures, and diagnostic tools.
