A global technology leader is seeking a Robotics Systems Engineer to oversee the deployment of robotic technologies in fulfillment centers. This field-based role requires a strong technical foundation in robotics and engineering, with extensive travel expected. The ideal candidate will manage installations, coordinate with various teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Applicants should hold a BS in Engineering and possess relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, and IT systems.
Robotics Systems Engineer, Amazon Robotics Deployment Engineering. The System Engineer plays a crucial role in the Amazon Robotics deployment team. They oversee the installation, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment in new and existing fulfillment centers (FCs). This field engineering based position demands strong technical skills for deploying robotic equipment, including working with mechanical systems, electrical, configuring networking, and coordinating software systems. While training is provided on the specific systems that the engineers will be working on, a candidate should have foundational knowledge of robotics, networked mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
The System Engineer will work with a team of 1-5 engineers and collaborate with an on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on the installation of both third party and Amazon designed robotics equipment. These deployments require extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, including third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, IT, and other partner teams. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external partners and customers. The candidate must demonstrate independent initiative to identify and solve problems in real time during deployments and will drive continuous improvement initiatives to avoid recurrences.
Systems engineers will deploy robotic systems in various phases of a product life cycle. When supporting new products, the candidate is expected to lead the development of process documentation and modify existing processes. A strong technical foundation, enjoyment of field work, and a deep interest in Amazon’s robotics systems are key attributes. The ability to recognize process gaps and take ownership in developing solutions is important. Project duration can range from a few days to several months and may require travel across the US. International work is available for candidates interested in pursuing. This position requires 75% travel. A valid US drivers’ license is required.
Relocation to Amazon Corporate offices in Seattle, Boston, or Austin will be required for the role.
A day in the life of this role includes heavy travel (up to 75%), working primarily in construction or warehouse environments, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role may involve on-site and remote support, with travel across the US and potentially internationally.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
