Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse Charge Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South).The #1 city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement.Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule: Full Time - Nights - 36 hours per week

Unit Summary

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to Geriatrics. The conditions that are within the scope of service include the following but are not limited to:

  • Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
  • Complex Plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma related reconstruction)
  • Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections.
  • Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
  • Traumatic Complex Fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
  • Elective Joint Replacements – Rapid Recovery Program
  • Sports Injuries
  • Spinal Deformities
  • Complicated Pelvic, Hip, and compression Fractures
  • Skeletal Malformations and Abnormalities
  • Amputations and Prosthesis
  • Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery
  • Medical/Surgical patients including those requiring Telemetry

Requirements of the Ideal Candidate

·Graduate of RN School of Nursing

·ADN required

·Active RN License

·Basic Life Support (BLS) Require or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone who has completed an established program in Nursing.
  • At least (2) two years in the field.
  • Registered Nurse License.
  • You must have Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.
