Vontobel's Milan branch is seeking a Risk Manager to strengthen second-line defenses by identifying, assessing, and monitoring material risks across credit, market, liquidity, operational, and regulatory domains. You will lead risk reporting for the Board and Head Office and ensure Italian and EU regulatory compliance.

Role requires strong analytical skills, independence of judgement, and an affinity for AI-enabled tools.

Competenze

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 8-15 years of experience in financial services risk management, preferably in Private Wealth Management.
• Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risks and regulatory risk requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and independence of judgement.
• Affinity for AI and willingness to embrace AI-enabled tools.

The Risk Manager is a second-line of defense function, responsible for the oversight and coordination of financial and non-financial risks of the Milan Branch. The role ensures that risks are identified, assessed, monitored and reported in line with Group risk frameworks, internal policies and regulatory requirements, supporting the sound and prudent management of the Milan Branch. The Risk Manager acts independently from first-line functions (including Operations and Credit Risk), which retain ownership of risk origination and management in the ordinary course of business.

What would your role be? Implement and maintain the local risk management framework, aligned with Group standards. Identify, assess, and monitor material risks, including credit, market, liquidity, operational, conduct, ICT risks, legal and reputational risks, on the basis of information provided by first-line functions (Operations, Credit Risk) and relevant Bank/Group offices. Prepare and deliver regular risk reporting to the Board of Directors, Branch Management and Head Office. Ensure compliance with Italian and EU regulatory expectations and support supervisory interactions. Escalate material risk issues and support effective internal controls and audit processes. Receive information from Compliance, Finance, and first-line business units to support informed, independent risk assessments.

What are we looking for?

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field
• Relevant experience (8-15 years) in financial services risk management, preferably in Private Wealth Management
• Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risks and regulatory risk requirements
• Strong analytical skills, independence of judgement and professional integrity
• Affinity for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a willingness to embrace AI-enabled tools and ways of working
