The role

Reporting to the SGR Board of Directors on risk management and valuation this role is required by relevant regulation as set down by the Bank of Italy. This position is totally independent from the individual operational functions of the SGR.

The position requires hands-on development of risk models both for the company and Funds managed involving market, liquidity, credit, counterparty, sustainability and operational risk, assure controls are operating effectively, and provide research and analytical support.

What will you do?

1. Being responsible for implementation of valuation process, coordinating the internal process and external service providers (e.g. valuer).
2. Communicate in a concise and confident manner risk policies and processes at a senior level to Boards, Investors and Management.
3. Designing and implementing an overall risk management and valuation process for the organisation.
4. Contributing in defining risk and valuation policies, being responsible for related implementation.
5. Implement effective procedures to measure, manage and monitor on an ongoing basis all risks inherent in the investment strategy of each Fund under management and the company itself.
6. Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.
7. Manage, build and maintain internal and external relationships to inform decision making and selection of consultants where appropriate.
8. Acquire adequate knowledge of the assets owned by the Funds managed.
9. In coordination with relevant internal departments, collect all useful data and information to be transferred to the external valuer in order to carry out the valuation of the Funds’ real estate assets.
10. Coordinate the activities carried out by the External Valuer.
11. As a result of the valuation process prepare Valuation Reports in support of the relevant resolutions of the Board of Directors.
12. Provide all the information and data necessary to carry out the evaluation activity, implemented by the other relevant SGR functions or teams.

You will bring

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, risk management and/or a related technical discipline, combined with excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
2. Experience in a risk management/valuation role and/or knowledge of Investment Management, Construction and Property Development industries, operations, risks, techniques, methodologies and relevant legislation.
3. Good interpersonal, problem solving, technical and analytical skills.
