Job Responsibilities

Assists the Retail Store Manager and Retail Assistant Store Manager in the operation and management of a retail center by performing the following duties personally or through supporting team members.

Donation and Merchandising

  • Receives donations from donors using the GRATIS process (Greet, Receipt, Assist, Thank, Invite Back, Sort).
  • Sorts, prices, and stocks hardline and softline donations for sale according to established expectations.

Sales and Record-Keeping

  • Uses point-of-sale system accurately to complete merchandise sales; encourages customer rounding-up for mission impact.
  • Records donations and production of merchandise accurately.
  • Exceeds production goals and maintains a clean work environment.

Certifications and Training

  • Obtains and maintains forklift, walk-behind stacker, first-aid, CPR, and BBP certifications.
  • Trains new team members and provides coaching as needed.

Customer and Security Responsibilities

  • Handles refunds and customer concerns effectively.
  • Reports security or theft issues promptly.

Compliance and Leadership

  • Adheres to all policies, procedures, and safety standards to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Leads store activities in the absence of or at the direction of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

Administrative Duties

  • Performs opening/closing duties, makes bank deposits, and secures the building per guidelines.

Additional Duties

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads retail team and store activities in the absence of or under the direction of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, including training, planning, assigning work, and addressing concerns in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
