Descrizione del lavoro

Greentalent, a recruiter specialized in search and selection of professionals and managers in the Energy, Engineering, and Environment market, is seeking a:

The candidate will be part of Snam/Stogit International Underground Gas Storage team, providing technical support for UGS services to internal and external clients worldwide. This involves developing new energy storage projects, mainly hydrogen and CO2 underground storage, and evaluating projects/assets with underground storage components.

As a Reservoir Geologist, the candidate will support geological activities, focusing on structural and petrophysical modeling for projects outside Italy in the Underground Gas Storage sector and new energy underground storages (CCS and Hydrogen).

  • Petrophysical characterization (porosity, permeability, saturation in gas/water), formation evaluation, and static modeling using specialist software;
  • Quality analysis of geophysical, petrophysical, stratigraphic, and well data; assessing the need for data integration through new acquisitions or reprocessing;
  • Analysis of the reliability of geological data and stratigraphic surveys, including core analysis, in-situ tests, log acquisition, and correlations;
  • Verification of the quality, robustness, and completeness of reports and deliverables from third-party service providers;
  • Participation in asset evaluation teams for international UGS projects, including due diligence, data room review, and technical meetings, with responsibility for geological modeling and petrophysical characterization;
  • Location planning for new wells to enhance storage capacity (infill, development, geognostic studies);
  • Preparation of geological plans for new wells;
  • Real-time structural interpretation during well drilling, including structural mapping;
  • Evaluation of SAR and CGPS satellite data quality and integration for soil geodynamic characterization;
  • Participation in multidisciplinary teams for asset evaluation, including due diligence and technical meetings, with a focus on geological aspects.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in petroleum, reservoir, mechanical, chemical, civil engineering, or related fields;
  • 7-10+ years of international experience;
  • Proven involvement in upstream feasibility studies for gas field development, preferably UGS;
  • Knowledge of 3D dynamic modeling with black oil and compositional simulators;
  • Experience in technical evaluation of oil/gas fields in terrigenous and fractured environments;
  • Reservoir management experience and production optimization techniques;
  • Experience in well test design, supervision, and interpretation;
  • Knowledge of petroleum geology and geological modeling techniques;
  • Understanding of geodynamics and rock geomechanics;
  • Basic seismic acquisition and interpretation skills;
  • Experience with CCUS or hydrogen storage projects is a plus;
  • Proficiency with reservoir and petroleum engineering software such as Petrel G&G, Petrel Geomechanics, and Techlog;
  • Experience in coordinating interdisciplinary teams and managing external contractors;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly;
  • Good knowledge of the energy sector, especially gas transport, storage infrastructure, and renewable gases like hydrogen and CCUS.
