The research activity will focus on developing Neural Motion Control methods for robotic systems operating in dynamic, human-shared environments. The objective is to design control architectures that combine physics-based robot models with neural learning techniques to achieve autonomy, adaptability, safety, and high performance. The research focus will be on human-robot and robot-environment interactions by modelling perception and decision-making processes under operational constraints and changing conditions. The research will investigate interaction models using heterogeneous sensory data and techniques for extracting meaningful representations of system states and actor intentions. Activities will also include developing elastodynamic robot models based on Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs). Hybrid controllers integrating model-based control and neural algorithms will be designed and validated through simulation and experiments on real robotic platforms.
