Job summary

Uniper is seeking a Legal Counsel (all genders) to advise on Italy renewable energy projects. You will support development, acquisition, construction and operation of solar, onshore wind and battery storage, coordinating with teams across Italy and Germany.

The role requires at least five years in an international law setting, strong drafting skills for complex contracts and a deep understanding of Italian permitting and environmental law. English fluency and Italian C2 are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in an international law firm or company.
• Experience in renewables or energy industry preferred.
• Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Experience negotiating construction agreements (EPC, EPCM, O&M).
• Strong knowledge of the Italian regulatory framework for renewable projects.

Responsibilities

• Advise Uniper’s Renewables business on all legal matters relating to the development, acquisition, construction and operation of renewable energy projects in Italy, with a focus on solar, onshore wind and battery energy storage systems.
• Interdisciplinary project responsibility and first point of contact for all legal advice for renewable energy projects based in Italy.
• Provide legal advice for Uniper’s existing renewables project pipeline across the entire project lifecycle in Italy including corporate law.
• Steering Legal Due Diligences, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and project documentation, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
• Advise the development and acquisition teams on Italian permitting and environmental law for solar, onshore wind and battery projects.
• Close cooperation with lawyers in Uniper’s headquarters in Germany and other departments of the Uniper Group to deliver strategic legal support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Selection and management of external law firms, including quality and cost management.
• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in the Italian renewables sector and advise the business on their impact and implementation.
