Job Description

The role involves providing technical and commercial consultancy services for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and hybrid projects. You will advise developers, operators, lenders, and investors primarily in the Italian and Spanish markets, with support for other regions such as Portugal, France, and the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading technical and commercial due diligence for PV, BESS, and hybrid projects/portfolios, acting as a project manager or supporting roles.
2. Assessing risks that could impact project or portfolio financial models, such as energy yield deviations, delays, or cost overruns, and proposing mitigation measures.
3. Evaluating areas including land acquisition, permits, environmental constraints, project design, tariffs, grid connection, and contracts.
4. Conducting solar resource and energy production assessments using advanced simulation software, including PVsyst modeling and uncertainty analysis.
5. Monitoring construction and operational phases.
6. Engaging in strategic planning and business development to foster client relationships and secure new projects.
7. Managing multiple projects, resources, budgets, and ensuring profitability.

Requirements:

1. MEng in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
2. Fluent in Italian and English.
3. Minimum 7 years of consultancy experience, with knowledge of technical due diligence in solar PV.
4. Ability to review renewable energy contracts and assess technical and commercial risks.
5. Understanding of Italian sector-specific requirements, including grid, land, environmental permits, and hybridization technologies.
6. Strong report-writing skills in English.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Proven track record in client relationship development.
9. Willingness to travel.
10. Experience with other renewable technologies such as Storage, Hybridization, and Hydrogen is preferred.
11. Ownership experience in engineering, construction monitoring, or asset management.
12. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese markets and additional language skills are advantageous.
