We believe in trust, responsibility, and flexibility, offering a supportive environment where you can thrive. Our team enjoys collaborating in our Torino office, working from home when desired, and taking time off when needed. Don’t miss the chance to revolutionize the future with us!

We are seeking a Remote Sensing Specialist with deep expertise in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Payload Data Analysis to join our growing and dynamic team. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in advancing our capabilities in SAR data processing and geospatial analytics. Your expertise will directly impact our advanced SAR-based services, supporting R&D initiatives and product development in the field of Earth Observation and satellite technologies.

While experience in machine learning (ML) is considered a strong asset, it is not a strict requirement. We welcome candidates with strong SAR and remote sensing expertise who are enthusiastic about innovation and open to acquiring ML skills— we will support your professional development in this area through tailored training and mentoring. You will collaborate with a skilled team of ML engineers, working together to extract actionable insights from complex SAR data. We value smart, motivated, and collaborative engineers who love solving problems and making a difference. Remote sensing experience is beneficial, but what matters most is your passion for technology, drive to innovate, and commitment to contributing to cutting-edge solutions in the future of space and earth observation systems.

Tasks

  1. Analyze, interpret, and process SAR data to support geospatial and remote sensing applications.
  2. Design, develop, and improve workflows for SAR data preprocessing, calibration, and interpretation to extract actionable insights for geospatial and remote sensing applications.
  3. Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and SAR teams to define use cases and datasets for AI-driven SAR analysis (ML knowledge not required initially).
  4. Collaborate with SAR and Machine Learning teams to design algorithms for SAR data processing and to optimize applications tailored for embedded systems.
  5. Manage and handle large datasets, ensuring efficient data preprocessing, analysis, and storage.
  6. Continuously improve model accuracy and performance, applying best practices in software quality, version control, and testing.
  7. Process, analyze, and visualize SAR data, generating detailed reports, maps, and presentations for various stakeholders.
  8. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes, emphasizing accurate data handling, technical excellence, and adherence to deadlines.
  9. Stay updated on the latest advancements in SAR data processing, machine learning, and deep learning technologies, promoting continuous learning within the team.

Requirements

  1. Master’s degree (or higher) in Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Geophysics, Earth Observation, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in SAR data processing, including interferometry, polarimetry.
  3. Solid understanding of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) operations, including data collection, processing, and interpretation.
  4. Experience with tools and platforms for SAR data handling.
  5. Familiarity with GIS tools and geospatial data visualization (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
  6. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with EO data analyses.
  7. Knowledge of GIS and EO concepts, including data management, projections, and visualization techniques.
  8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a strong commitment to goals, quality, and a positive attitude toward growth and change.

Preferred Experience

  1. PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields, highlighting advanced expertise in SAR applications.
  2. Proven track record in key technical or lead roles in R&D projects, particularly in innovative or cutting-edge technology environments.
  3. Experience in remote sensing, earth observation, and satellite data analysis, including expertise in processing imagery payload data and on-board data processing from cameras and various sensors.
  4. Nice-to-have: Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
  5. Nice-to-have: Understanding of MLOps tools and deployment concepts.
  6. Familiarity with Scrum working methodology and Agile principles, demonstrating an ability to work efficiently within iterative and collaborative development processes.

Additional benefits include Ticket Restaurants, health insurance under a CCNL plan, welfare plan, access to courses for skills improvement, and a salary range of 40K-50K€.

Hiring process includes:

  1. Initial interview with our People & Talent team and the Hiring Manager.
  2. Technical live session and follow-up video call.
