The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Food Science and 7+ years of development experience in the meat industry. Proficiency in Italian and English is essential, and travel is expected.

About the role

We are seeking an RD&A Senior Technologist to join our Meat and Meat Alternatives team in Mozzo, Italy.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and deliver development and application activities for key Meat and Meat Alternatives projects in Southern Europe.
  • Develop, validate, and prepare application samples for internal and external customers, ensuring products meet application needs, are cost-effective, and comply with legal and customer specifications.
  • Build strong relationships with customer R&D teams, providing excellent service in concept development, sample delivery, product presentation, and technical support.
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements and identify new opportunities.
  • Assist customers with technical issues, troubleshooting application concerns as needed.
  • Develop innovative solutions to grow customer and Kerry’s market share within cost and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring product legality.
  • Bring continuous innovation aligned with customer-specific requirements, including regulatory compliance, taste preferences, and ingredient restrictions.
  • Expand opportunity pipelines by maintaining visibility within customer R&D organizations and increasing understanding of Kerry’s value proposition.
  • Proactively manage project pipelines, leading internal and external project calls with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain technical understanding of key customer manufacturing processes, recipes, NPD systems, and development standards.

Qualifications and skills

  • BSc in Food Science or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of product development experience, preferably in processed meat, poultry, fish, meat alternatives, or prepared meals, or in related ingredient companies.
  • Fluent in Italian and English; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in meat product application, ingredient manufacturing, or processing.
  • Good knowledge of meat industry product categories such as process aids and functional ingredients.
  • Ability to plan and execute technical work independently to meet strategic goals, managing relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering customer presentations and technical support.
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Team player, self-motivated, organized.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites or Kerry locations (20-50%).
