Description: A Brief Overview

Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transferring patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety). The employee must be enrolled in an approved imaging program. This position qualifies for the Funding Healthcare Futures program.

What You Will Do

  • Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments, including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, and providing patient preparation and instructions. Communicate with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
  • Facilitate patient care activities, including lifting, transporting, chaperoning, and monitoring patients.
  • Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry, including PACS system management.
  • Ensure the availability of procedural supplies, including ordering and stocking patient care items.
  • Follow hospital initiatives to meet patient satisfaction goals.
  • Adhere to MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Register and check in patients.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI), including completing annual training and adhering to the UH Code of Conduct and policies regarding PHI use.
