This role will be part of the SQIM R&D department, reporting to the R&D Director, and will serve as the team leader, guiding and supporting the R&D research team.
Key responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage detailed work plans, allocate resources, set priorities and deadlines, and monitor progress to ensure timely project execution.
- Technical Leadership & Support: Provide scientific guidance, troubleshoot complex issues, design and execute experiments, and validate research data for accuracy and compliance.
- Innovation & Process Development: Propose and implement improvements, facilitate technology transfer, and stay informed on the latest trends in fermentation science.
- Experimental Design & Execution: Lead hands-on lab work, design and run experiments for internal and external projects, and ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare thorough reports, interpret data to generate insights, and maintain high-quality documentation aligned with company standards.
- Communication & Collaboration: Report to R&D leadership, coordinate with production and quality teams, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lab Operations & Safety: Oversee lab maintenance, enforce safety protocols, and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
Education and experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or related field required.
- Experience in microbiology, fermenter/bioreactor operation and/or design, process data analytics, preferably within private industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Fluency in Italian and English (both written and spoken).
