We are looking for an R&D Lab Manager (m/f/d) to support the R&D department.
Enapter’s R&D department comprises a total of 12 laboratories, with activities carried out in the field of chemistry, materials characterization (microscopy, spectroscopy, electrochemical testing, mechanical properties analysis, ICP-OES…), and testing of components for our AEM Stacks.
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure that lab-based activities can be carried out smoothly within the R&D department, by maintaining the laboratories organized, and providing support to the technicians, researchers and team leaders for matters concerning equipment, laboratory supplies as well as safety and regulations.

What role will you play in building a green hydrogen future?
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring all activities comply with safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and regulations
- Organize maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Manage the inventory of lab supplies such as chemicals, reagents, and other consumables, ensuring correct storage conditions and appropriate stock levels are available
- Order lab supplies (materials, reagents, chemical, glassware etc) and track expenses
- Collaborate with the Health and Safety officer to establish procedures related to the above-mentioned safety protocols, regulations and good practices and ensure that new R&D staff is aware of them.
- Maintain safety documentation such as SDS or lab access regulation documents.
- Collaborate with the Quality team and H&S officer to ensure ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards are met and documentation is available and up to date
- Provide support to the R&D Department, for example when purchasing new equipment, establishing collaborations with external partners for analysis/characterization or organizing external measurement campaigns
- Provide support in project proposal writing and project reporting related to equipment/laboratory supplies
What do you need to help make our goals a reality?
- First things first: Enthusiasm for the part green hydrogen will play in tomorrow's world and Enapter's role in it;
- Technical high school diploma (perito chimico), and/or university degree in a scientific field (experimental)
- Significant hands-on experience working in a chemistry laboratory (min 3 years)
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety rules (chemistry/material characterization or other relevant field)
- Experience in working in ISO9001, ISO45001, and/or ISO14001 certified environment and knowledge thereof
- Experience in purchasing of laboratory supplies
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working proficiency level in English
- Full professional proficiency level in Italian
- Excellent organization skills
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
