Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Firmware Engineer to own the architecture, design and development of embedded products in a controlled environment in Lombardia. The role requires implementing cybersecurity considerations, following continuous improvement, and collaborating with Commissioning and Manufacturing teams.

The candidate will analyze requirements, work with hardware and software teams, and contribute to documentation and test tool creation, enabling robust production deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master Degree in electronics, automation engineering (or similar).
• Experience writing embedded firmware in C and bare-metal programming.
• Experience with USB, UART, SPI, I2C protocols.
• Able to debug hardware and firmware with tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter).
• Good knowledge of Italian and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, architecture, design and debug of electronics boards.
• Develop documentation according to standards.
• Perform functional analysis and performance profiling of firmware/hardware in test environments.
• Construct test tools for automated functional testing.
• Support hardware definition for series production.

The Firmware engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design and development including sustain the lifecycle of Embedded products. Also, it is required to match cybersecurity requirement, follow continues improvement process, solve bug issue; provide training and collaborate to other interal departments (e.g Commissioning, Manufacturing...etc).

• Performing effective analysis of functional issue or performance profiling with the FW and HW in test environments

Tasks and Qualifications:

• Degree or Master Degree in electronic, automation engineering (or similar) or proven professional experience
• Experience of writing embedded firmware in C and bare-metal programming
• Experience with the common bus protocol protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C)
• Able to debug HW and FW by tools and wide range of techniques
• Familiarity with laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.);
• Good knowledge of Italian and English written and spoken.
