Job summary

Datalogic is hiring an R&D Embedded Software Engineer to design and build scalable Linux-based embedded software for state-of-the-art edge computing platforms. You will write C++ user-space code, work on Linux kernels/bootloaders in C, and port software across diverse hardware platforms, sensors, and peripherals.

The role emphasizes multi-threaded programming, SQA best practices, and active collaboration on architecture, requirements, and development guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
• 1+ year hands-on experience in Linux embedded systems, C++ and object-oriented design.
• Strong knowledge of C++, design patterns, debugging/profiling tools and SQA practices.
• Experience with Git, Docker, Jenkins and CI/CD.
• Experience with multi-threaded programming and Yocto is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Python/Java, ARM/MIPS architectures and image-processing technologies is a plus.
• Fluent English; Italian is preferred.
