Your role

We are seeking an R&D Concept Lab Manager to join our R&D Department.

This role will be part of the Concept Lab within the R&D Mechanical Engineering team, focusing on creating new concepts for hinges, nose-pads, temple-tips, temples, clip-on components, and other small functional details of eyewear frames.

Main responsibilities include:

• Supervising project development, managing multiple projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Leading and supporting a team of 4 FTEs dedicated to developing eyewear mechanical concepts, prioritizing projects, and allocating resources.
• Providing technical and professional support to overcome development obstacles.
• Leading discussions with other company functions involved in product development, such as Product and Brand Management, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Controlling.
• Defining and developing a network of external partners to support concept development at various stages.
• Planning and managing the yearly budget considering team growth and project needs.
• Maintaining a product-oriented mindset focused on final customer needs.
• Ensuring actions are aligned with timing constraints.
• Fostering an innovative mentality by exploring new concepts and techniques and implementing them efficiently.

Main requirements include:

• A Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering.
• Experience leading a team of R&D Engineers.
• Previous experience in product design within interior design, luxury automotive, or fashion accessories industries is a plus.
• Skills in Project Management, Product Development, and Mechanical Design and Engineering expertise.
