Your role

We are seeking an R&D Concept Lab Manager to join our R&D Department. This role will be part of the Concept Lab within our Mechanical Engineering team, tasked with creating new concepts for hinges, nose-pads, temple tips, temples, clip-ons, and other small functional details found in eyewear frames.

Main responsibilities:

1. Project Development Supervision: Oversee management of multiple concurrent projects, balancing resources, loads, and timelines according to various constraints.
2. Concept Group Management: Lead and support a team of 4 FTEs dedicated to developing eyewear mechanical concepts, managing projects, setting priorities, and allocating resources.
3. Support and Tutoring: Provide technical and professional support to overcome development obstacles and accelerate progress.
4. Networking: Facilitate discussions with other company functions involved in product development, such as Product and Brand Management, Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Controlling.
5. Supplier Management: Establish and develop a network of external partners to support concept development at different stages as needed.
6. Budgeting: Define the annual budget considering team growth and project requirements.
7. Product-oriented mindset: Maintain focus on final customer needs.
8. Focus on timing: Develop actions to meet timing constraints.
9. Innovator mentality: Focus on investigating new concepts and techniques and implementing them efficiently.

Main requirements:

• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering
• Experience leading a team of R&D Engineers
• Previous experience in Product Design, interior design, luxury automotive, or fashion accessories industries is a plus
• Project Management skills
• Product Development expertise
• Mechanical Design and Engineering skills
• Proficiency in 3D Modelling
