Vactor Mfg. Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Quality/Manufacturing leader to ensure Test department builds meet specifications while driving production schedules. You will oversee Quality, QA Auditors, Warranty, and related functions, and develop defect-free production procedures.

You will implement process controls, coordinate ISO 9001 activities, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, mentoring supervisors to reduce waste and improve customer satisfaction.

Competenze

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years experience in manufacturing or engineering.
  • ISO 9001 quality system experience.
  • Continuous Improvement/Lean methodologies experience.
  • Leadership of projects and capital equipment justification.
  • Experience with machining, forming, welding, painting, assembly and validation.
  • Excel data analysis experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Responsible for ensuring Test department build products to specification while driving to a production schedule.
  • Direct responsibility for managing Quality (Test, Quality Auditors, and Warranty) as well as Vactor’s Certified Weld Inspector, Technical Trainers, and other quality supported functions.
  • Develop written procedures and practices that will allow the production of defect-free products.
  • Develop and implement process controls that assure conformation to blueprint and engineering specifications.
  • Assist plant management in setting and maintaining quality objectives and assures plant quality objectives are being met. Identify appropriate tasks and schedules required to accomplish goals and continuous improvement in the process.
  • Develop and maintain the Vactor Quality System including coordinating Vactor’s ISO:9000 activities.
  • Collect and analyze quality assurance data internally and externally. Develop, track, and execute plans to support production and field service goals.
  • Focus on improving customer satisfaction based upon product and service performance.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs using written procedures and practices to verify supplier quality meets our requirements.
  • Develop and implement process controls for reoccurring non-conforming material or processes.
  • Conduct field audits of products to determine conformance to product specifications.
  • Conduct supplier audits to determine capability/Quality System requirements.
  • Identify modes of waste in Vactor’s production system. Work with available resources to make improvements to eliminate waste.
  • Train, mentor and guide supervisors, crew leaders and operators in Continuous improvement plans and initiatives.
  • Effectively communicate customer’s issues and perspectives to all plant personnel, including floor level, on a routine and timely basis. Works directly with all departments in quality issues and in preventative and corrective actions.
  • Investigate customer complaints and work with appropriate management to resolve issues. Assist management in preparing customer complaint responses.

Education, Experience, And Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in manufacturing or engineering, mobile equipment
  • Experience with implementation quality system, such as ISO 9001 and creating supporting documents.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/Lean methodologies.
  • Experience in leading and managing projects preferred.
  • Experience with justification of capital equipment preferred.
  • Experience with processes such as machining, forming and welding, painting, assembly and product validation operations preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis in Microsoft Excel and other tools required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent problem solving and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and deliver constructive feedback.

Salary Range - $95k-115k
