Quality Control Technician

Siemens Energy is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join its global transformer production site in Trento. This is a permanent position with international exposure and approx. 30% travel time.

The Siemens Energy Transformers facility in Trento is one of the global factories within the Siemens Energy network focused on the production of power transformers. With a strong presence in both the Italian and international markets, the factory manufactures power transformers ranging from 40 to 1,000 MVA. These products are exported worldwide and are recognized for their high reliability and innovative design.

Within Siemens Energy, the Grid Technologies division offers a leading portfolio of solutions for HVDC transmission, grid stabilization and storage, high-voltage switchgear and transformers, and digital grid technology.

Position Description

Siemens Energy is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join the team at its Trento facility. The technician will be responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections on transformer components and materials, using appropriate measuring instruments and technical drawings.

Key duties include recording inspection results, managing non-conformities, and coordinating with internal departments and external suppliers for resolution. The role involves collaboration with supply chain, engineering, and production functions to ensure the quality of incoming materials and finished products.

The Quality Control Technician will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing preventive actions and supporting the development of quality control procedures.

The position requires availability for business travel, accounting for approximately 30% of total working time.

Requirements

1. Diploma or degree in a technical discipline (mechanical or electrical)
2. Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical measurements
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
4. Proficiency in using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
5. Prior experience in quality control or production is considered an advantage
6. Good command of written and spoken English
7. Strong teamwork orientation, problem-solving ability, and flexibility
