Consol Partners supports a confidential Italian manufacturing group in appointing a senior Quality Control Manager in Umbria. The role leads the QC team, ensures product inspection, and drives Certificates of Conformity in a technically demanding environment.

The successful candidate will coordinate inspectors, allocate resources, manage non-conformities and contribute to continuous improvement across production and engineering functions.

Competenze

• Experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing/metalworking environment.
• Experience managing internal and/or supplier non-conformities.
• Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment management.

The Opportunity

We are supporting a confidential, established Italian manufacturing business with the appointment of a senior Quality Control Manager. The organisation operates within a technically demanding manufacturing environment where product quality, traceability, inspection and conformity are critical. This is a senior position with responsibility for the Quality Control function, product inspection activities, non-conformity management and product conformity certification. The successful candidate will lead the Quality Control team and work closely with production, engineering, suppliers and other internal functions to ensure that manufactured products consistently meet the required technical and quality standards.

The Role

As Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that product quality-control activities are effectively planned, performed and documented. You will manage the Quality Control Inspectors and ensure inspection resources are allocated effectively across the manufacturing operation. A particularly important aspect of the position is responsibility for the Certificate of Conformity (COC) and ensuring that the necessary inspection, testing and documentation requirements have been satisfied before product conformity is formally certified.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the Quality Control Inspectors.
• Determine and allocate resources required for effective product inspection.
• Develop, monitor and analyse Quality Control KPIs.
• Coordinate product conformity certification activities.
• Coordinate conformity certification for relevant special processes performed by third parties.
• Sign and issue Certificates of Conformity.
• Identify, issue and record internal non-conformity reports.
• Manage non-conformity reports relating to suppliers of raw materials, machining operations and special processes.

• Identify and implement technical improvements to Quality Control processes.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing/metalworking environment.
• Previous experience managing or coordinating Quality Inspectors or similar technical personnel.
• Strong understanding of product inspection and conformity.
• Experience managing internal and/or supplier non-conformities.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of technical product data and manufacturing requirements.
• Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment management.
• Understanding of chemical, mechanical and/or metallographic testing.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A flexible, persistent and collaborative approach.
• A technical qualification and/or Engineering degree.
• Good command of English.
• Italian language skills are strongly preferred due to the level of interaction with internal teams.
