QHSE Engineer
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with quality requirements as defined by directives, standards, contracts, and technical specifications, both in execution and documentation.
- Serve as the primary quality point of contact on site, coordinating with project teams, clients, and contractors.
- Implement and maintain QHSE and QA/QC project procedures, suggesting revisions or improvements in coordination with the QHSE Manager.
- Lead and coordinate quality-related activities throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Participate in kick-off meetings, quality reviews, and acceptance inspections involving clients and third parties.
- Ensure the application of site-specific quality plans (e.g., ITPs, FQPs) and ensure alignment with ISO standards, customer requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Manage non-conformities (NCRs), perform root cause analysis (RCA), and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with the project team.
- Deliver quality training for site personnel and subcontractors; actively promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage technical documentation related to quality, including method statements, lifting plans, handover files, and RFI coordination.
- Monitor quality KPIs, ensure timely reporting, and maintain accurate and traceable quality records.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Mandatory Certifications: ASPP
- Preferred certifications: ISO Lead Auditor, CWI, NDT Level II, ASQ.
- Proven experience in site-based QA/QC roles, preferably within EPC or HVDC projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction regulations, welding procedures, and supplier quality management (ASME).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluent in both Italian and English.
Work Location: Termini Imerese (Palermo).
