A fast-growing fintech scale-up is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help shape the future of its financial platform. Team and responsibilities
You’ll be joining a cross-functional, globally distributed engineering team, building core financial services and infrastructure that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
- Building and scaling backend services using Python, Django or similar frameworks.
- Designing and maintaining clean, well-structured REST APIs.
- Working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and designing performant schemas.
- Writing clean, tested, production-ready code.
- Collaborating closely with product, data, and design teams to ship new features.
- Monitoring application performance and addressing reliability or security concerns.
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions.
- Supporting continuous improvement across the team.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with Python / Django.
- Deep knowledge of API design, microservices, and scalable systems.
- Experience working with SQL databases and ORMs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
- Comfort with Git, testing frameworks (e.g., pytest), and CI/CD workflows.
- A strong grasp of security best practices and data protection principles.
- Effective communication skills in English, collaborative mindset, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
