Generale Du Solaire in Milan seeks a Project Manager to lead solar farm deliveries, guiding projects through tendering, pre-construction and construction phases.

You will coordinate a multi-disciplinary team across engineering, site operations and safety, manage budgets and schedules with MS Project or Primavera, and oversee contractual documentation and permits.

Fluent in English and Italian, you will liaise with clients and regulators to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of energy projects.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience managing construction/energy projects.
• Experience in Contract, Risk and Procurement Management.
• Proficiency with planning software (MS Project, Primavera).

For our Italian branch, with HQ in Milan, we are looking for a Project Manager in charge of leading the delivery of solar farm projects. This will primarily involve taking projects through the tendering, pre‑construction and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage solar farm projects on behalf of clients, acting as Owner’s Engineer/Project Manager.
• Manage project budgets and schedules, including use of MS Project or similar industry standard software.
• Assess, review and report on project spend throughout the project.
• Maintain project risk registers, action trackers, change logs, etc.
• Manage GDS’s project team, typically including colleagues from across project management, electrical engineering, civil engineering, site engineering, and H&S safety departments.
• Carry out and maintain a strong understanding of the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) or Principal Designer (PD) role.
• Prepare Employer’s Requirements and other technical documents for inclusion in construction contracts, including: Solar EPC contract, Balance of Plant (BoP)/Independent Connection Provider (ICP) contracts.
• Support the team with planning condition discharge.
• Support the team in obtaining relevant project consents, permits and licences such as CRU licence, road opening licences, felling licences, etc.
• Liaise with distribution and transmission system operators regarding grid connection contracts and delivery on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate EPC contract on behalf of clients, liaising with client’s project team, legal and financial advisors.
• Administer construction contracts.
• Manage construction meetings both on site and remotely.
• Manage construction interfaces between contractors and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. At least 2 years of experience managing construction projects with medium to large size projects (preferably in the energy sector). Experience in Contract, Risk and Procurement Management. Consolidated knowledge in planning software (Project, Primavera, etc.). Knowledge of HSE & Quality Management. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, strong leadership. Ability to work in multicultural teams. Fluent in English and Italian (French is a plus).
