A luxury hotel in Venice is seeking a Hotel Purchasing Manager to coordinate and manage all operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom Department. The ideal candidate will ensure operational needs are met and sourcing of high-quality products at competitive prices. Excellent command of Italian and English is required, along with strong cost analysis skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments. This position offers a seasonal contract with the potential for an indefinite role.

Competenze

  • Knowledge of purchasing software systems, preferably Navision or Business Center.

San Clemente Palace is looking for a HOTEL PURCHASING MANAGER in Venice.

SCOPE

The overall scope of this role is to coordinate and manage all operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom Department. The role will start as a seasonal contract with the possibility of converting to an indefinite contract at the end of the season.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES

To safeguard the financial integrity and stability of the hotel and minimize potential risks. To ensure all hotel departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties. To continuously research and find new and alternative products to improve operations and reduce costs.

The Hotel Purchasing Manager's success is measured when:

  • All operational needs are met consistently and timely.
  • Best products are obtained at the highest quality and most competitive prices.
  • New products are regularly sourced, keeping the hotel updated with the latest trends and innovations.
COMPETENCIES
  • Excellent command of Italian and English languages.
  • Ability to handle high volume with attention to detail.
  • Cost analysis and management skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing software systems, preferably Navision or Business Center.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Chef to obtain the best products and prices.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Chef to source the best products at the best prices.
  • Review market lists and offers daily.
  • Maintain professional and harmonious conduct, adhering to the code of conduct.
  • Foster good relationships with business partners.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and products.
  • Ensure competitive bidding processes are fair and ethical.
  • Monitor slow-moving and dead stock, maintaining stock levels aligned with operational needs.
  • Ensure all deliveries and issues are properly documented and processed.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding operational matters.
  • Maintain secure, organized, and clean areas.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the Purchasing staff.
  • Handle hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations, and scheduling.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the controller and assist in other finance areas as needed.
  • Communicate with the Financial Controller regarding discrepancies or potential issues.
