We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our team.

The role will report to the Director of Purchasing.

Conveniently located adjacent to Rome Termini Station and a short distance from the Colosseum, the 238-room Hyatt Regency Rome Central is a contemporary 5-star hotel offering premium business services and one of Italy’s most dazzling leisure rooftop experiences.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing purchasing strategies to source high-quality food, beverages, linens, equipment, and supplies at optimal costs.
  2. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  3. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with kitchen, housekeeping, and operations teams to maintain stock levels.
  4. Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries, ensuring quality and quantity meet purchase orders.
  5. Lift, move, and store goods and supplies, following safety guidelines.
  6. Maintain purchase records, supplier contracts, and pricing data.
  7. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, health regulations, and company policies.
  8. Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues related to order discrepancies or delays.
  9. Work closely with accounting to manage procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  10. Work comfortably in storage areas, loading/unloading goods, and ensuring proper stock organization.
  11. Perform physical tasks such as standing and walking for extended periods.

Skills and requirements:

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Business Central is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of English.
