Job summary

MSC Cruises in Genova seeks a Purchasing Agent to coordinate merchandise activities with merchandising, planning, logistics and finance teams. You will process POs, track shipments and ensure timely deliveries to warehouses in line with the Retail Global Calendar.

We value a university degree in Business Economics, Supply Chain or Procurement, plus experience in replenishment or planning, preferably in retail. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is expected.

• Experience in retail or planning with strong analytical skills.
• MS Office literate with good knowledge and use of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders for the assigned categories and follow up on shipments.
• Collaborate with vendor partners to improve fill-rates, timely shipping, and vendor compliance.
• Coordinate with Logistics on inbound and outbound product flow for speed-to-market initiatives.
• Resolve invoice/PO discrepancies with Finance and vendors to resolve payment issues.
• Identify loading dates according to Retail Global Calendar.
• Ensure goods are delivered at the warehouse or alongside respecting the agreed dates.
• Load the order confirmation to enable warehouse to prepare documentation and ships to load merchandise in system.
• Communicate with Onboard retail teams to foster collaboration.
• Manage delivery delays with vendors and modify shipment confirmations as needed.
• Maintain the Cargo communication.

Your Purpose

Reporting to the Planning & Fulfillment Coordinator, the Purchasing Agent works with merchandising and planning teams as well as the forwarding and logistic teams to coordinate the merchandise activities.

The Retail Department aims to maximise the economic return by defining the best retail offer and by delivering a best-in-class shopping experience for our guests.

Your Impact

• Process purchase orders for the assigned categories and follow up on all shipments.
• Work with vendor partners to improve/maximize fill-rates, timely shipping, and vendor compliance.
• Collaborate with Logistics on inbound and outbound product flow for enhanced speed-to-market initiatives.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues regarding performance and flow of goods.
• Check Invoice/PO discrepancies and facilitate the communication between Finance and vendors to solve payment issues.
• Identify loading dates according to Retail Global Calendar.
• Ensure the goods are delivered at the warehouse or alongside respecting the agreed dates.
• Load the order confirmation on time to enable the warehouse to prepare custom documentation and the ships to load the merchandise in the system.
• Communicate with the Onboard retail teams to foster collaboration.
• Manage delivery delays with vendors and modify confirmation of shipment if needed.
• Maintain the Cargo communication.

Your Journey so far

• University Degree in Business Economics, Supply Chain, or Procurement, or equivalent qualification/working experience.
• Relevant working experience in replenishment and/or planning, preferably in the Retail sector.

Your Essentials

• MS Office literate with good knowledge and use of Excel.

Our commitment

In line with applicable pay transparency requirements, we are pleased to share the compensation details for this role.

The role is entitled to a gross annual salary between € 28.000 and € 32.000. The position within the salary range and the corresponding job classification level under the applicable CCNL, will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.

The employment relationship will be governed by the CCNL Commercio (National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Commerce Sector).
