LIBERAMENTE ETS is currently seeking Psychology students and Childhood Educators for unpaid internships in Italy, aimed at enhancing practical skills. Interns will support children in vulnerable situations and provide psychological assessments within a supportive international team, gaining real-world experience and valuable insights while contributing positively to the community.

Competenze

  • Education related to educational sciences or childcare educational assistant for Childhood Educator.
  • Enrollment in second or third year of psychology studies for Psychologist.

We can only host students that are currently studying in Europe and students studying in the EU candidate countries, and those who can use the Erasmus traineeship program or have scholarships. Please note that our internship is unpaid.

Remember that Liberamente ETS is located in Italy, so students studying in Italy cannot apply.

Children's Educator:

Job descriptions

The child educator in reception centers plays an essential role in supporting and caring for children who find themselves in situations of vulnerability or need. Responsibilities include:

  • Emotional support: Provide emotional support to children exposed to trauma or difficult experiences, creating a reassuring environment and encouraging emotional expressions.
  • Education and development: Design and conduct educational and recreational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development, such as games, art activities, and lessons.
  • Individual assistance: Pay attention to children's individual needs, providing personalized support based on their experiences, mental health, and abilities.
  • Collaboration with professionals: Work with psychologists, social workers, teachers, and others to ensure coordinated support.
  • Involvement of families: Engage with children's families when appropriate to encourage communication and participation.
  • Monitoring and evaluation: Continuously assess children's well-being and development, adjusting activities as needed.

The psychologist in reception centers provides vital emotional and psychological support to migrants and asylum seekers who may have experienced trauma, violence, and stress during their journey or due to circumstances leading them to leave their country.

  • Psychological assessment: Conduct initial and periodic assessments to identify mental health or adaptation issues.
  • Support: Offer individual therapy and counseling to address trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.
  • Group support: Organize group sessions for sharing experiences and mutual support.
  • Case management: Collaborate with other staff to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Education and awareness: Conduct sessions on mental health and coping strategies.

Psychologists must create appropriate environments to establish genuine contact with beneficiaries, facilitating effective relationships.

Required Qualifications:

  • Studies in psychological sciences and techniques, enrolled in the second or third year.
