Overview

PROPOSAL MANAGER – ABOUT THE ROLE

Officina Stellare is an Italian company at the forefront of aerospace innovation. We design and manufacture high-precision optical systems for space, scientific, and industrial applications. As Proposal Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating, preparing, and submitting proposals for both institutional and commercial projects. You will play a key role in securing strategic opportunities by managing the full proposal lifecycle—from bid analysis to final submission and contractualization.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for institutional and commercial projects proposal coordination, preparation and submission.
  • You report to the head of the proposals and the domain business development responsible.
  • You manage the entire bidding process, from analysing documentation and interacting with the customer, to drafting and validating the proposal, through to negotiation and contract finalisation.
  • You organize and coordinate the proposal preparation process, ensuring parallelization and full compliance with company procedures, customer procurement rules, regulatory standards, export conditions, and contractual constraints.
  • You coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary contributions, working closely with technical and operational teams to define solutions and architectures aligned with bid objectives.
  • You update and maintain the company sales, marketing and proposals databases according to the agreed processes and standards.
  • You contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal management processes and the development of the company\'s knowledge base.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, Physics, or other technical-scientific disciplines;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal management, bid management, or sales engineering, ideally within aerospace, defence or high-tech industries;
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical specifications;
  • Solid understanding of pricing logic, budgeting, and cost-benefit analysis;
  • Ability to understand the risk aspects and their management, analyse their impacts;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent planning, organisational skills, and time management;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Attention to detail and able to work with a high level of meticulousness;
  • Proactive attitude;
  • Teamwork player;
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple proposals, also where the process and/or deliverables are non-standard;
  • Ability to work successfully under time-sensitive deadlines and in fast-paced environments.
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of ECOS;
  • Knowledge of national and international tendering processes;
  • Experience with optical systems.
