Job Description:
Your new company: Our client is a leading technology company engaged in the worldwide development, commercialization, and application of state-of-the-art proprietary technologies for air pollution control, process optimization, combustion efficiency, and advanced engineering services.
Your new role:
- Works with sales and engineering staff to review bid specifications and provides comments in the form of exceptions, clarifications, and deviations for scope and pricing development and input into proposals for company technologies, including ASNCR, SNCR, SCR, ULTRA, AFCU, and related Systems.
- Develops a cost estimate for each assigned proposal, based on scope of supply and the client RFQ/specification requirements through soliciting supply chain quotes.
- Drafts proposal PFD / P&I drawings for inclusion in the bid package with support from Engineering to ensure alignment with known systems and technologies.
- Works with Project Execution and Purchasing staff, particularly in the USA, to define estimating procedures and improve cost estimate accuracy.
- Works with Project Execution or autonomously to obtain technical comments for client RFQ packages and incorporate into proposals.
- Develops bid specifications (MR – “Material Requisitions”) with the Manager, Engineering, for suppliers and contractors for the various company Technologies and Systems, including review and development of company T/C’s for bidding purposes.
- Collaborates with Manager, Engineering, Sales, Sales Engineering, and Legal (in Italy and the US) to gather all critical commercial, technical, and process requirements for vendor MR specification development.
- Establishes communication protocols with outside engineering firms, arranges site visits for bid estimates, and manages engineering bid costs.
- Attends internal project kick-off meetings to ensure smooth transfer of information from Sales to Project Execution and understands project requirements early on.
- Works with Project Execution and Project Management throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear project turnover from proposal to execution, including scope, schedule, budget, and preliminary designs.
- Performs vendor qualification activities and develops summaries to evaluate vendor capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, and risks.
- Handles key engineering tasks such as creation and review of P&ID, PFD, and other lists in support of active projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in systems design and cost estimating.
- 3-5 years of experience in inside sales, sales engineering, or similar support roles.
- Knowledge of industry installation practices, including ATEX Zones, and experience with commercial terms is preferred.
- Experience with HAZOP and Risk Analysis is required.
- AutoCAD proficiency is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to use feedback to improve designs.
- Problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Leadership qualities and commitment to ethical conduct.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Fluency in Italian and English required.
