Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the complete validation strategy, developing a unified approach from early factory activities to final site acceptance with the customer.
  • Liaise with the System Deployment and Integration Manager (SDIM) and project teams to establish a robust migration path.
  • Discuss and align the validation strategy with Safety and Cybersecurity Assurance Managers.
  • Drive and support teams responsible for verification, lab testing, and site operations, ensuring compliance with Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations while meeting customer commitments.
  • Regularly update core teams on validation progress, support the implementation of strategies, and coordinate planning with V&V and T&C teams to ensure appropriate conditions and schedules for demonstrating expected system behavior.

Strategy:

  • Define the Project Verification and Validation (V&V) strategy within the V&V Plan, ensuring proper coverage and demonstrating compliance with customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle, from factory testing to on-site acceptance tests.
  • Optimize the allocation of tests between in-house labs and on-site locations, prioritizing lab activities to anticipate results, enhance efficiency, and improve test coverage.
  • Support the development of the V&V and T&C activity schedule, coordinating with SDIM, Design, and Installation teams to secure adequate validation time slots.
  • Manage the Requirement Validation Table (RVT) to track and demonstrate compliance with technical requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, applicable standards, methods, and tools, requesting deviations when necessary.
  • Coordinate the V&V and T&C teams' requirements regarding lab and site tools, overseeing their implementation, delivery, and calibration (managed by the T&C team).

Execution:

  • Oversee the execution and reporting of all planned validation activities.
  • Monitor and follow up on tasks delegated to experts in other departments.
  • Manage internal interfaces with core teams and external stakeholders such as partners and subcontractors.
  • Represent Alstom in front of customers and auditors, providing an overview of the test strategy, progress, issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate the global strategy application and adaptation based on the site possession schedule.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning of the ERTMS in the system acceptance phase.
  • Support the customer acceptance phase, including laboratory configuration, test support, and on-site activities.
