ProductLife Group seeks an experienced Project Manager, Works & Construction Facility Engineering to lead engineering, construction, and facility projects for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. You will manage from concept through commissioning, ensuring GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across multidisciplinary teams.

Requires a strong PM background in Civil/Architectural, Mechanical/HVAC, or Electrical engineering with site supervision and procurement experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in civil, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, design, and construction.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated industries.
  • Fluent English and professional-level Italian.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage facility engineering and construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate engineering design deliverables and ensure technical consistency across disciplines.
  • Oversee construction/site activities, manage contractors and safety/compliance.
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders, provide regular project reporting.
  • Support procurement and contract administration, track budgets and costs.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Works & Construction Facility Engineering to lead and deliver engineering, construction, and facility projects for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. The successful candidate will manage projects from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and completion while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong project management capabilities combined with solid technical expertise in at least one engineering discipline (Civil/Architectural, Mechanical/HVAC, or Electrical) and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities Project Management
  • Lead and manage facility engineering and construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Define project scope, objectives, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project performance, risks, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Engineering Design Coordination
  • Review, challenge, and coordinate engineering design deliverables.
  • Ensure technical consistency across all engineering disciplines.
  • Verify compliance with GMP requirements, client specifications, regulatory standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Identify technical gaps, design inconsistencies, and potential impacts on cost, schedule, and project scope.
Construction & Site Management
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction and site activities.
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and monitor construction progress against approved plans.
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Serve as the main technical and project interface for clients.
  • Translate client requirements into clear engineering and construction deliverables.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, engineering partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project reporting and updates.
Contract & Procurement Management
  • Support procurement activities and contractor selection processes.
  • Manage contracts and commercial aspects of projects.
  • Track budgets, costs, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Ensure proper project documentation and reporting.
Business Development Support
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during client discussions.
  • Support technical proposals, scope definition, and project planning.
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Automation Engineering
    • Or a related engineering discipline
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, design, and construction projects.
  • Proven experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong experience managing construction and facility engineering projects.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Solid background in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Hands-on experience in site supervision and contractor management.
  • Experience with procurement and contract administration.
Languages
  • Fluent English.
  • Professional proficiency in Italian (mandatory).
