About the vacancy

At our newly planned cold store near Rome, you will be responsible for the construction of our facility. You will be part of a multifunctional team and collaborate with colleagues across our global business.

The primary goal is to effectively manage the construction site team, uphold professionalism to meet project goals within time, budget, and quality standards, and foster a positive health & safety culture on site. You will serve as the main contact between the construction site, headquarters in Breda, contractors, and suppliers worldwide.

What will you do?

1. Manage and maintain high-level project deliverables.
2. Create and manage the project budget and schedule efficiently.
3. Oversee design and procurement processes with support from headquarters and engineering firms.
4. Manage the local project team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
5. Lead steering committee meetings, project meetings, and site meetings.
6. Document and manage all project documentation.
7. Report regularly to management and provide input for client and investor reports.
8. Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
9. Support other NewCold operations, including business development initiatives.
10. Share best practices and standards across sites and participate in collaborative projects.
11. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
12. Ensure proper handover from project to operational phase.
13. Manage permitting and supplier management plans.

Job requirements

We seek an experienced, highly motivated project professional who is a self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team, with:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
• Deep knowledge of principles, practices, and theories within their discipline.
• Excellent leadership and time management skills.
• Awareness of current market trends and best practices.
• Flexibility for international environment adaptation.
• Willingness to be almost full-time on the construction site in Italy (near Rome).
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Projects, and AutoCAD.
• Fluent in English and Italian (spoken and written).
• Experience with automated material handling systems.
• Knowledge of warehouse management system implementation.
• Relevant project management certifications.
• Experience in greenfield projects valued over €40 million.
