Descrizione del lavoro

Introduction:

Serco is a trusted leader in Space Services, with a proud history spanning over 55 years and a track record of supporting more than 50 space missions for world‑renowned agencies like ESA and NASA. Our expertise covers the entire space lifecycle—from satellite testing and launch services to spacecraft operations, space surveillance, and data management—making us a key partner in advancing national strategies and driving innovation in the New Space era.

The Community You Will Join

You will work in an international, diverse team, surrounded by top‑tier scientists, engineers, and technical experts who inspire and challenge you every day. You’ll have ongoing opportunities to grow through specialized training and professional development tailored to the space sector, all while being part of a company that genuinely values work‑life balance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. As you contribute to innovative projects and mission‑critical systems, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to cutting‑edge technologies and collaborate closely with major space agencies, becoming part of something truly extraordinary.

The Difference You Will Make

You will contribute directly to some of Europe’s most exciting space programmes, from Earth observation and climate monitoring to satellite navigation and space safety. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring mission success, enabling better decision‑making on Earth and driving innovation in orbit. Whether you’re helping manage spacecraft operations, analysing mission data, or supporting software and systems development, your expertise will help move Europe’s space ambitions forward.

Your Mission

In this role, you will manage projects in the field of Earth Observation, ensuring that activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards, while working in a dynamic and international environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting. You will coordinate technical and operational activities, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and support decision‑making processes across multidisciplinary and distributed teams. You will also contribute to risk management, resource planning, and the continuous improvement of project processes. The position requires a structured and solution‑oriented mindset, the ability to work both independently and within multicultural teams, and strong communication skills to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

What You Bring to the Mission

You will step into the world of advanced technology with a solid foundation: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. You will establish and maintain strong connections with Customers, Consortium partners, and third‑party Providers, making sure every interface runs seamlessly. You are expected to anticipate challenges, putting proactive measures in place to keep services smooth, and you focus on achieving the true objectives of the activity, not just ticking boxes in a contract. When operational problems or customer complaints arise, you dive in, resolve them efficiently, and maintain the trust of all stakeholders. You can track SLAs and KPIs with care, ensuring every metric aligns with performance goals. You craft and present regular reports and highlight achievements to both customers and senior management, painting a clear picture of progress. When opportunities for additional activities appear, you prepare project proposals and expand the scope of current service contracts. You lead the Service Desk team, supervising their activities while orchestrating project meetings and reviews: preparing agendas, circulating minutes, and keeping everyone aligned. Risks don’t catch you off guard—you manage and execute the Risk Management Process, staying ahead at every turn.

On the technical side, you coordinate day‑to‑day technical activities with precision. You guide your team and any sub‑contractors, balancing schedules and costs while implementing improved processes and standards for operational services. You oversee the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of every requirement and producing clear, documented operational procedures. You collect inputs, prepare project reports, and coordinate deliverables, ensuring they meet Customer standards and pass every review and acceptance milestone. Every task you take on is a step toward seamless execution, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction, you’re not just managing projects, you’re shaping their success.
