Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling a wide range of tasks from administrative duties to strategic planning. This position is based in Naples, Italy.

Accountabilities

• Ensure project delivery meets contractual requirements, budget, quality standards, and deadlines, maintaining customer satisfaction. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for project profit and loss.
• Identify and manage project risks, updating risk assessments periodically with support from the Risk Manager, and propose contingency strategies to top management.
• Evaluate and allocate risk contingencies as needed, with approval from the Project Controller.
• Maintain the relationship with the customer, acting as the primary interface for all project-related matters. Coordinate all direct communications between the project team and the customer.
• Coordinate the Deputy Project Manager and Project Assistant during project execution.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Approve the master schedule and secondary schedules prepared by the Project Planner.
• Authorize changes to the project baseline affecting costs, schedule, or contractual obligations.
• Manage customer variation requests, from proposal to negotiation.
• Approve sub-contracts and Letters of Intent related to key suppliers and legal entities, ensuring alignment with project budget, schedule, and contractual terms.
• Oversee the preparation and management of project progress reports and meetings, including financial reports by the Project Controller.
• Approve and manage all project communications with the customer.
• Validate invoicing plans and oversee product delivery to the customer.
• Lead and motivate the project team.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Minimum 10+ years of project management experience in a complex, multinational organization.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop constructive relationships with stakeholders.
• Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or IPMA certification is a plus.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field.

Languages

English at C1 level or higher.
