Overall Purpose of The Job
To undertake the role of Project Manager, ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with SeaTec quality management system, Group policies and marine industry standards.
Supporting Managing Director on further development of local operations, enhance network of partners, manage customer relationships and supervise the execution of projects
To plan, supervise, manage, and perform tasks such as: feasibility studies, design studies, detail design, plan approval work, site supervision, ship condition surveys, damage investigations, specification writing, cost estimating.
To provide assistance to all V.Group offices on technical matters.
To support the General Manager in the development of technical and project management capability (people, processes and tools).
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
The Project Manager will have responsibility for the delivery of designated projects from start-up through to acceptance.
Primary Duties Include
- Preparation of proposals.
- Preparation of project budgets.
- Preparation of project and quality plans ensuring that records of all work are kept in a systematic and traceable manner.
- Monitoring the technical and financial performance of projects.
- Preparation of monthly project progress reports in accordance with SeaTec requirements.
- Resource management of projects, delegation and supervision of junior staff.
- Assisting the Project Director with Staff performance and development reviews and acting as a mentor for more junior staff.
- Identifying, negotiating, and appointing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Tender pricing of projects and negotiation with the potential customers.
- Managing the profitability of the projects.

Essential
- University Degree in Marine / Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture
- 5 year post graduate experience in naval architecture, marine or electrical engineering.
- Track record in tendering process and cost estimation
- Hands on and ‘can do’ approach to the business
- Must be prepared to travel extensively and at short notice
- Excellent track record with clients and very good communication skills.
- Hold a recognised Project Management qualification commensurate with the position.
- Computer literate with knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Professional (including MS Project), also knowledge of bespoke design software i.e. AutoCAD, Mathcad, FEA.
- Eligibility for Security Clearance up to UK Secret.
