The ideal candidate will have 7-12 years of experience in GIS/AIS substations or EPC power plant projects, a degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering, and strong leadership skills. Proficiency in electrical design tools is preferred. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work across various European projects.

One of my client is looking for a project manager engineer to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across complex power infrastructure projects in Europe.

Location : Milan (with European project scope)

Company : Global Leader in Grid & Power Quality Solutions

Experience Level : Senior (7–12 years)

Employment Type : Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams (internal and outsourced) on power system projects (HV / MV / LV)
• Act as design authority and technical lead for substation and power quality system engineering
• Manage full-cycle engineering activities : from basic to detailed design
• Conduct electrical calculations and define technical specs (transformers, switchgear, BESS, UPS, etc.)
• Develop key project documents (Single Line Diagrams, layouts, equipment specs)
• Interface with clients, TSOs / DSOs, and internal stakeholders
• Support installation and commissioning phases
• Mentor junior engineers in both primary (electromechanical) and secondary (electrical design) disciplines
• Collaborate on proposal development, risk assessment, and subcontractor management

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical / Energy Engineering or related field
• 7–12 years experience in GIS / AIS substations or EPC power plant projects
• Strong technical knowledge of HV / MV / LV systems
• Professional Engineering License preferred
• Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., PVsyst, ETAP, DigSILENT, AutoCAD, QGIS is a plus)
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Skilled in stakeholder communication, team leadership, and project coordination
