Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Project Engineering Manager for sites in Rome, Bari, Bologna or Florence to lead the technical scope and delivery of major projects. You will manage risks, validate designs with peers and ensure alignment with QCDP commitments, while directing engineering activities and Verification & Validation processes.

The role requires hands-on experience in leading engineering teams, strong cost and planning control, and fluent English, with opportunities across multiple Italian sites

Qualifications

• Engineering background with full lifecycle project deployment.
• Proven experience in managing technical projects.
• Hands-on experience in leading teams (functional or hierarchical).
• Cost and planning control within engineering scope.
• Experience managing customer relationships in contractual contexts.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical contractual scope of the project.
• Manage project technical risks and mitigation plans.
• Validate technical design choices with peers and Solution Director.
• Deploy engineering processes, methods & tools on the project.
• Ensure the project solution meets Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance commitments.

Your Role:

As a Project Engineering Manager you will manage the technical contractual scope of the project ensuring its delivery according to the quality, cost, performance and scheduled commitment originally agreed and, if applicable, updated as a result of negotiated variation orders.

• Manage the technical contractual scope of the project
• Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan
• Validate the technical design choices with the peers and Solution Director
• Deploy the applicable engineering process, methods & tools on the project
• Manage the project solutionto meet Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitments
• Be responsible of the project design and application engineering activities
• Supervise Verification & Validation activities

Qualifications:

• Engineering background including project deployment full lifecycle view
• Relevant experience in managingtechnical projects
• Hands-on experience on functional or hierarchical team management
• Cost and planning control experience in engineering scope
• Hands-on experience on Customer relationship in contractual situations
• Strong leadership skills
• Fluent written and spoken English
