The Project Director reports to the General Manager, Italy, and manages consulting projects end to end, overseeing the project team including field staff on a matrix basis. The projects primarily serve global pharmaceutical organizations focused on the Italy market, as well as local pharmaceutical companies.
Job Role
- The Project Director is responsible for business development, including maintaining current business, acquiring new clients, and expanding STEM's presence within existing accounts.
- Acts as a key client contact, understanding their business, interviewing leaders, analyzing observational data, presenting final reports, and providing strategic recommendations, while maintaining ongoing client contact.
- Briefs and manages an experienced team of field workers, participating in some field interviews with senior leaders.
- Oversees healthcare professional interactions observed by field staff, depending on project scope.
- Develops and stress-tests initial hypotheses during data collection to facilitate strategic recommendations and bespoke presentations.
- Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, taking accountability and acting as a strategic partner to clients.
- Engages with C-Level executives across top pharma companies, addressing critical issues.
- Works within STEM’s culture of autonomy, flexibility, trust, and empowerment, contributing to the company's reputation and growth.

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Studies, Life Sciences).
- Advanced business qualification (e.g., MBA, Certificates) is a plus.
- Experience in Pharma sales management, marketing, business units, or management consulting with high-level client interaction.
- Consultancy experience in Pharma is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to network effectively and interact credibly with senior client executives.
- Results-oriented with strong interpersonal skills to win business and maintain a relaxed demeanor.
- Ambitious, independent, yet a team player with leadership qualities.
