Descrizione del lavoro

As a Project Development Manager at Queequeg Renewables, you will lead the development of wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in Italy. While this role focuses on the Italian market, a significant part of the Italian team is based in our London office, and we are open to candidates working from either London or Milan. Regardless of location, close collaboration with Italian stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and local partners will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead deal structuring and commercial negotiations with partners and key market players for the acquisition of pipelines or establishment of JVs and other partnerships.
  • Assess the commercial and contractual terms of each opportunity to ensure economic viability, including understanding the business and financial models.
  • Ensure projects reach 'ready to build' status by managing relationships with stakeholders such as JV partners, authorities, landowners, grid operators, off-takers, and advisors.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, utility companies, private entities, financial institutions, funds, investors, and buyers to implement strategic partnerships.
  • Manage tasks and inputs from Engineering, Legal, Tax, and Finance teams, as well as external advisors, during development, acquisition, and sale phases.
  • Prepare and implement Financial and Business Memorandums (IC Memo), manage internal approval processes, and ensure proper control during project deployment stages.
  • Stay informed on market developments and industry news to identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of wind, BESS, and solar PV project development from feasibility studies to permitting.
  • Coordinate project teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for project acquisitions.
  • Identify and secure new development opportunities.
  • Liaise with and support the engineering team.

Skills

  • Ability to work within a team and support team members.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of the Italian regulatory framework related to energy sector development and construction of PV and Wind Plants, including environmental and licensing requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of the Italian electricity system, including technical and regulatory aspects, distributed generation regulations, utilities, and interconnection procedures.
